Coaching in organisations

‘Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything’
George Bernard Shaw

Making progress and creating new cultures in organisations can only be done with sure and credible leadership and an empowered work force. If you want to get the best from your people, encourage them to take personal responsibility and perform at their best then a coaching approach will help you to achieve success.

This may be developing an internal coaching provision, giving managers the skills to have coaching conversations or equipping leaders to lead from behind. By taking a coaching approach as an organisation you are investing in your people and making it possible for them to reach their full potential.

Previous clients have reported an increase in profits, more effective communication, greater staff engagement and increased levels of confidence in leaders and managers. Some organisations have chosen to invest in staff to obtain professional qualifications in coaching and mentoring; enabling them to develop city wide networks where the coaching resource can be shared across different sectors and avoid some of the constraints of internal coaching and mentoring.

All of our training and facilitation models the coaching approach. This helps you to identify your training outcomes and work at an emotional and cognitive level to address complex dynamics within your teams. Participants are stretched and challenged personally leading to increased emotional intelligence and greater self awareness. A variety of environments and experiences are utilised to meet the needs of different preferences, including classroom teaching, group discussion, experiential exercises and reflective practice.

Design of any training begins with an exploration of the current and historical issues of the stakeholders and the desired outcomes of the intervention. This often leads to addressing the culture of the whole organisation and working with senior teams to develop their leadership alongside the introduction of behavioural and skills training throughout the organisation.

I found working with Sarah both motivating and inspiring. I was given the space and freedom to explore many different facets of my personal and professional life, meaning I was able to identify the patterns of behavior and thinking that were holding me back. The coaching I received was supportive and actionable and has had a huge impact in my day-to-day, both in and outside of work. I would definitely recommend working with Sarah whatever you want to achieve as her coaching is tailored to you and your needs and I’ve found it of great benefit to me.

In September 2014, I started on Sarah’s coaching programme to become a coach. What happened after that; over the next 9 months, was a revelation. As well as enabling me to become a coach, Sarah’s gentle, intuitive and relaxed style exposed areas of my past that influenced my present life in a negative way. I could write pages and pages about the experience but words would not sum up the change I went through. I now see life in full HD technicolour vision, I know my priorities, I cherish time with people that are important to me, my social circle has expanded, I try new things, I feel brave, I laugh all the time and I have a full sense of worthiness. Whilst the journey was not always easy, the personal growth and absolute joy I now experience was worth it and I could never have imagined feeling this way. The last year has been life changing and I can only thank Sarah from the bottom of my heart.

Sarah Readings has provided coaching to me which I have found to be effective, exceedingly good value for money and a very supportive and personalised process. She has helped me to enhance my career as well as improving my work-life balance. I also participated in the ILM Coaching programme that Sarah led for the organisation I work for which was also a life-advancing experience and one which I will never forget. As well as learning to become a workplace coach via an engaging and experiential programme and gaining and formal qualification, the nature of coaching as a discipline and the way in which the programme was structured and taught by Sarah meant that I also learned an immeasurable amount about myself as a manager, colleague and personally. All of my interactions with Sarah have not only enabled me to become a more effective leader and coach but they will also help me to advance my career moving forward and will further boost my own happiness. I could not recommend Sarah more highly.

Sarah has completed a number of assignments for my company, all of which provided their own unique challenges which Sarah took in her stride and delivered fantastic results. As a coach and trainer she has the two key qualities I want; to be able to deliver outstanding results and to identify future business opportunities.

I was fortunate to meet Sarah for the first time when my employee, a large NHS Trust, commissioned Sarah Readings Limited to deliver a managers’ development programme. I had three one-to-one coaching sessions with Sarah and found this to be an insightful and liberating experience. Sarah’s skills and breadth of knowledge is vast and she uses many coaching techniques in a mix that purely her own and is outstandingly good and effective and I can confidently say that working with Sarah helped me make some really big changes in my working life.

I am so glad that I started this journey with Sarah. My experience has not only helped me to achieve my goals, but more importantly, it enabled me to discover who I am, what really makes me tick and to reach for authenticity like never before.

I had no idea where I wanted to go or how I’d get there. I only knew I had to do it. Sarah has the gift of being able to find the hidden treasures that allow one to achieve their goals. Throughout our work together, my relationships deepened in a way I never could have imagined. I interacted with much more freedom and confidence. Sarah gave me a control over my life that I have never before experienced. I suspect you have no idea how much I valued all the support at that time in my life, so, thank you, Sarah you are a treasure who works with grace and a rich blessing in my life.
